Machine Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate machines to grind, extract, mix, blend, dry, freeze, cook or process food products
• Perform pre and post inspection of packaging equipment and machine calibration
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment failures to minimize downtime
• Assist and guide a team of helpers to ensure production runs are completed on time
• Maintain and store department inventory and documentation
• Adhere to Food Safety, GMP, and Health and Safety policies

Requirements

• Post-secondary Education in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering Diploma or equivalent
• 6 months to 1 year experience operating machinery in food processing or manufacturing
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods, bend, twist, and walk
• Ability to work in a refrigerated environment (0°C to 4°C)
• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs
• Basic computer skills and English communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of ProSeal (GTE/GTR) and Loma Metal Detectors
• Familiarity with MHE operation (forklift, stacker, reach, etc.)
