Machine Operator

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate automated saws to cut metal material for open job orders
• Read blueprints and job orders to determine product specifications, dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions
• Observe machine operation to verify conformance of machined workpieces to specifications
• Perform inspection work, including final inspections, to ensure quality and accuracy
• Support material handling activities within the department
• Prioritize and plan work activities to use time efficiently

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years of trade school apprenticeship or equivalent shop experience
• Technical training in shop math and blueprint reading
• Strong mechanical and mathematical skills
• Ability to operate various types of machine tools

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Previous machine shop experience
• Proficiency with Windows computer operations
• Strong attention to detail
