Machine Operator

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate automatic or manual production machines, including cutting sheet metal and operating annealing/brazing furnaces or bending equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications, and shop orders to determine machine setup and production sequences.
• Select, position, and secure dies, blades, cutters, and fixtures using hand tools, templates, and gauges.
• Adjust machine controls to regulate factors such as pressure, blade angle, and machine speed.
• Inspect and measure workpieces using rules, gauges, and templates to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines as required for TPM.
• Conduct tests and inspections of products to evaluate quality and performance.
• Maintain a clean, orderly work area and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or 1-2 years of related experience and training.
• Mathematical proficiency, including the ability to work with whole numbers, common fractions, proportions, and decimals.
• Experience using various measuring devices to meet drawing dimensions and specifications.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, diagrams, and operating manuals.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• High attention to detail and the ability to meet production deadlines.
