Machine Operator (Band Saw)

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain band saw machinery and resistance butt welders to manufacture Porta Band blades
• Set up and adjust automatic cut-off machines, including setting stops for length and counters for quantity
• Transfer blades to welding machines and manage time and temperature controls
• Use grinding wheels or belt grinders to remove weld flash from blades
• Perform required inspections and tests throughout the manufacturing process
• Conduct regularly scheduled daily, weekly, and monthly machine maintenance and lubrication
• Handle scrap, rework, and mixed products in accordance with ISO 9001 standards
• Follow all safety rules, regulations, and practices to ensure a secure work environment

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 6+ months of experience as a machine operator
• Ability to use and operate basic tools, equipment, and gages
• Ability to read and follow blueprints and standard work instructions
• Basic math and computer skills
• Ability to perform light physical effort, including lifting, pushing, or pulling 5 to 25 pounds
• Proficiency in reading and writing English to understand safety and quality instructions
• Flexibility to work overtime
