Machine Learning/AI Engineer

Responsibilities

• Translate ambiguous business problems into well-defined ML/DS problems
• Set technical direction for ML initiatives including build-vs-buy and model-architecture decisions
• Own ML systems end-to-end in production including data ingestion, training, serving, and monitoring
• Build and ship services, APIs, and integrations around models
• Define and defend metrics including offline evaluation, online A/B tests, and business KPIs
• Partner with product, design, and business stakeholders to shape the roadmap
• Raise the technical bar through design reviews, code reviews, and mentorship

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing and operating production systems
• 2+ years of experience in an ML/AI engineer role
• Experience in e-commerce or marketplace domains (recommendation, search, ranking, etc.)
• Proficiency with AI coding assistants and LLM-based tools
• Hands-on experience owning end-to-end ML systems in production
• Excellent English communication skills
• Experience building and scaling ML-powered products
• Proficiency in Python and SQL
• Experience with cloud data warehouses (BigQuery preferred) and public cloud (GCP preferred)
• Solid grasp of classical ML and deep learning

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with vector databases and embedding-based retrieval
• Familiarity with event-driven and streaming data pipelines
• Prior experience mentoring or setting technical direction
