Machine Learning Performance Engineer

The firm leverages modern computational techniques and massive research infrastructure, including a cluster with over 25,000 GPUs, to maximize the effectiveness of proprietary trading algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Support the ML Performance and AI Acceleration function
• Work at high and low levels of abstraction to increase performance of training and inference platforms
• Develop a sophisticated optimizing compiler for accelerated computing platforms
• Assist in the design of novel hardware architectures for accelerating models
• Map AI models from JAX graphs to transistors

Requirements

• Experienced software engineer proficient in C, C++, or Rust
• Confident in solving complex algorithmic problems
• Deep understanding of memory hierarchies and degrees of parallelism
• Knowledge of microarchitectural nuances on instruction dispatch rates and irregular bitwidth numerics

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience targeting GPUs, TPUs, or similar hardware
• Experience with data-flow oriented compilers for AI or scientific computing
• Experience writing Linux kernel modules or OS development
