About the role

Responsibilities

  • Implement, validate, and iterate on machine learning algorithms for weld perception tasks including point cloud registration and seam detection
  • Build and maintain data pipelines for training and evaluating perception models using 3D scan data and synthetic data generation
  • Run rigorous model evaluation experiments including failure mode analysis and benchmarking
  • Integrate trained models into production ROS-based robotics services
  • Lead research and production deployment of advanced perception algorithms for Senior/Staff levels
  • Design real-time perception systems using sensor fusion and probabilistic state estimation
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership on perception systems

Requirements

  • Master's or Ph.D. in CS, Robotics, or related field (or Bachelor's with strong production ML experience)
  • 3+ years (Experienced) or 7+ years (Senior/Staff) in real-world robotics or industrial ML
  • Strong Python fluency and hands-on PyTorch experience
  • Experience with 3D point cloud data and libraries like Open3D
  • Familiarity with 3D deep learning architectures such as PointNet++ or GeoTransformer
  • Experience integrating ML models into ROS-based architectures
