About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement machine learning and deep learning models to optimize hospital operations, including patient flow, resource allocation, and bed management.
- Build and optimize data ingestion and modeling pipelines to handle large-scale healthcare datasets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams of data scientists, software engineers, and clinicians to develop high-impact solutions.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance deployed models using MLOps best practices to ensure effectiveness in clinical environments.
- Ensure strict adherence to data privacy and security regulations, including HIPAA and GDPR.
- Mentor junior engineers and data scientists on machine learning techniques relevant to healthcare.
- Write technical architectural and design documentation.
Requirements
- Proven experience in end-to-end design and deployment of machine learning models from ideation to production.
- Strong programming skills in Python or R.
- Proficiency in ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
- Expertise in NLP, computer vision, or other specialized machine learning techniques.
- Experience with SQL and managing large, complex datasets (e.g., class-imbalances, sparse matrices).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCS) and database management systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or SQL Server).
- Proficiency with version control software like Git.
- Experience working within Agile development methodologies.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field with 7+ years of experience (or Master's/PhD with 5+ years of experience).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working specifically with healthcare data, EHRs, or clinical workflows.
- Knowledge of infrastructure tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
- Familiarity with real-time processing in hospital environments.
