Machine Learning Engineer

Finch is building the infrastructure to make justice radically more accessible by automating the administrative work of consumer law. Backed by Sequoia and Redpoint, we are rebuilding how the law serves everyday Americans through purpose-built AI and expert operators.

Responsibilities

• Build voice agents, browser agents, OCR pipelines, and LLM-powered workflows for production
• Design rigorous evaluation frameworks and feedback loops to improve model accuracy
• Own the full ML lifecycle including model selection, fine-tuning, prompt design, deployment, and monitoring
• Collaborate with product, ops, and legal experts to solve core business problems
• Track emerging research and tools to integrate into the technology stack

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building and deploying production ML systems
• Strong Python skills and end-to-end ML stack experience
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and evaluation design
• Proven track record of shipping observable, maintainable AI systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with NLP, OCR, speech, or agent frameworks (LangChain, OpenAI APIs)
• Experience at an early-stage startup defining ML infrastructure
• Familiarity with legal tech or document-heavy workflows
