Machine Learning Engineer

Responsibilities

• Designing, building and maintaining production-grade machine learning systems for personalisation and product discovery
• Developing and improving recommender systems and ranking models
• Deploying models into batch and real-time environments
• Collaborating with Applied Scientists and Engineers to transition models from experimentation to production
• Monitoring, evaluating and iterating on models using customer behaviour metrics
• Contributing to engineering best practices, MLOps tooling, and shared machine learning platform capabilities

Requirements

• Experience developing, deploying or operating machine learning solutions in production
• Familiarity with frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or XGBoost
• Experience training models using GPUs or interest in distributed computing
• Understanding of software engineering fundamentals (version control, CI/CD, testing, containerisation)
• Appreciation of MLOps practices at scale
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
