Machine Learning Engineer, Applied AI

Responsibilities

• Bridge research and product by turning frontier generative models into production features for Ideogram's app and API
• Fine-tune and deploy models for creative use cases including text-to-image, image-to-text, and multimodal tasks
• Design rigorous benchmarks, evaluation metrics, and error analyses to ensure model quality
• Curate, label, and clean datasets and design evaluation corpora
• Partner with research, engineering, and infrastructure teams to ship reliable and scalable ML systems
• Set and optimize client success metrics such as quality, latency, and cost

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience building and shipping ML products
• Proficiency in backend coding using Python, PyTorch, or Jax
• Experience designing benchmarks and evaluation metrics
• Familiarity with modern deep learning architectures including transformers, diffusion, and encoders
• Experience with dataset curation, cleaning, and failure-mode analysis
• Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment with high ownership and urgency
