About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform technical start-up, troubleshooting, and repair of electro-mechanical systems and CNC machine tools.
- Independently analyze machine malfunctions and resolve problems in machine tool system operation and performance.
- Troubleshoot, test, tune, and adjust machine tool elements to obtain optimum performance with Fanuc and Siemens-based control systems.
- Diagnose machine tool problems remotely utilizing Gleason Connect technology.
- Document qualification steps, findings, and repairs implemented.
- Provide formal classroom and shop floor electrical maintenance training to customers.
- Mentor and provide guidance to Level I Machine Control Technicians.
- Coordinate work tasks with internal project management during field installation and service projects.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree (A.S.) in electrical, mechanical, or electromechanical engineering/technology, or 5 years of equivalent experience in machine tool troubleshooting and repair.
- Detailed working knowledge of blueprint and schematic reading for hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Proven experience with High Voltage safety practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair CNC drives, amplifiers, servomotors, PLCs, I/O configurations, and rotary encoders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience using SAP quality system tools to report machine issues.
- Ability to use electronic test equipment such as voltmeters and gages to identify root causes.
