Machine Build

Responsibilities

• Rebuild, repair, and install complete machine tools and component assemblies to support manufacturing operations
• Tear down and assemble machine tools and major subassemblies, including heads, fixtures, spindles, slides, and hydraulic/mechanical units
• Perform troubleshooting to identify problems and recommend process or design solutions
• Set, tram, and align heads, fixtures, and tooling
• Operate a broad range of tool room equipment to recondition and modify components
• Specify components and assemblies required for equipment rebuilds
• Provide in-plant installation, service, and technical assistance to other departments
• Accurately report process time via the Realtrac system
• Attend meetings for new launches and projects and address plant-wide safety issues

Requirements

• Journeyman machine tool builder or equivalent experience (minimum of eight years), preferably in a rebuild capacity
• Valid forklift operator license
• Basic knowledge of hydraulic, electric, and pneumatic control systems
• Ability to read and interpret component and assembly prints
