Responsibilities

• Perform pre-use inspections of cutting equipment and prepare cutting torches or spears
• Verify conditions of hoses, connections, and gas pressure gauges
• Execute scrap metal cutting and monitor gas flow
• Inspect and control scrap discharge in the oxy-cutting area
• Verify absence of sealed vessels, oxygen bottles, acetylene, argon, etc.
• Check for contaminated scrap (chemicals, hydrocarbons, grease, oil, paint, rubber, wood, plastic, or coke residues)
• Accept materials for cutting such as coils, sheets, metal structures, rails, and beams if clean
• Maintain cleanliness and conservation of tools, equipment, and work areas
• Communicate environmental, health, and safety deviations to immediate supervisors

Requirements

• Completed Elementary School (Ensino Fundamental)
• Proven experience documented in work booklet (CTPS)
