Lyophilization Scientist

Responsibilities

• Design and perform hypothesis-driven formulation and process development experiments for sterile vaccine drug products.
• Prepare formulations and fill vials/syringes using aseptic technique and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
• Conduct stability and forced-degradation studies, analyze data, and author technical reports.
• Operate and troubleshoot benchtop unit operations including mixing, filtration, pumping, and lyophilization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as discovery, analytical, manufacturing, and regulatory to meet project timelines.
• Support analytical studies on formulated products including osmolality, viscosity, pH, and dynamic light scattering.
• Draft, review, and execute protocols for batch manufacture.

Requirements

• B.S. in Chemical/Biochemical/Biomedical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Immunology, Materials Science, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of relevant laboratory experience (academic or industry).
• Hands-on experience with sterile technique, buffer preparation, and sample handling.
• Strong data analysis skills with the ability to summarize and visualize experimental results.
• Proficiency in documenting experiments in electronic or paper lab notebooks.
• Ability to follow safe laboratory practices and maintain a clean, orderly work area.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States indefinitely without restrictions or sponsorship.
