LVN Pediatrics

Responsibilities

• Obtain, evaluate, and record patient history in medical files
• Measure and record vital signs on patient charts
• Use medical equipment including thermometers, scales, stethoscopes, and pulse oximetry
• Prepare and maintain examination and treatment rooms, including sterilization of instruments
• Assist physicians during patient examinations
• Explain treatment procedures to patients and their families
• Draw and collect blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
• Prepare and administer oral medications and routine immunizations
• Perform routine diagnostic and laboratory tests

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing school
• Valid Texas LVN license
• BLS (CPR & AED) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous nursing experience in a clinic or outpatient environment
• Proficiency in Spanish
