About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide support and coaching to student participants in moot court, trial advocacy, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) programs.
  • Manage competition administration, including registration, team travel arrangements, and supervising the student Board of Advocates.
  • Assist in recruiting and training advocacy program coaches and guest judges.
  • Provide one-on-one case preparation assistance, including reviewing written briefs, witness examination scripts, and opening statements.
  • Plan and implement voluntary skills training opportunities such as weekend boot camps and workshop series.
  • Develop case files for internal advocacy competitions and serve as a secondary coach for external competition teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus two years of related experience, or a master's degree.
  • Ability to travel in-state and out-of-state (approximately 5 trips annually with overnight stays).
  • Willingness to work some evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school or equivalent law degree.
  • Experience as a competitor or coach in advocacy skills competition programs.
