About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide assessment, intake, education, referrals, and follow-up for OAT, Primary Care, STBBI, PrEP, PEP, and EHR services
  • Support individuals with high levels of poly-substance use and complex acute/chronic conditions
  • Work independently and collaboratively in various settings including parks, drop-in centers, and overdose prevention sites
  • Provide harm reduction support, including Naloxone training and distribution of supplies
  • Develop and maintain individualized care plans with ongoing monitoring
  • Administer medications as ordered by program physicians
  • Collaborate with community partners to ensure seamless support for participants

Requirements

  • Licensed Practical Nurse, Registered Psychiatric Nurse, or Registered Nurse with current BCCNM registration
  • 2-3 years of nursing experience with poly-substance use and mental health challenges
  • Experience with OAT medications and controlled substances
  • Experience in supervised consumption or safer supply programs
  • Knowledge of substance use disorder and opiate agonist treatment
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Valid CPR/BLS for Healthcare Providers Certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified courses in phlebotomy, immunization, wound care, foot care, or addiction medicine
  • Certified practice designation in Reproductive Health
  • Experience working with Trans, queer, and gender-nonconforming communities
