Lower Elementary Homeroom Teacher

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement instruction at yearly, unit, weekly, and daily levels following the British Columbia Canada Ministry of Education Curriculum.
• Utilize effective teaching strategies and instructional frameworks to provide differentiated learning for diverse skill levels and learning styles.
• Monitor student progress using "As Learning" and "For Learning" assessments to provide regular feedback to students, parents, and administration.
• Communicate assignments, objectives, and student progress clearly and professionally to students and parents.
• Establish and maintain fair standards for student behavior in alignment with the school Code of Conduct.
• Participate in grade-level team planning, staff meetings, and professional development sessions.
• Manage classroom administration, including maintaining accurate records and preparing formal report cards.
• Supervise students in the classroom, on campus, and during off-campus school activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience.
• Valid Teaching Credential or License (BC, Canada, US, UK, Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa preferred).
• Experience with differentiated learning and student inquiry instruction.
• Experience in ESL education.
• International teaching experience and a respectful attitude toward diverse cultures.
