Low Voltage Technician

Responsibilities

• Install and terminate CAT cable and fiber optic cable
• Conduct service calls and oversee projects as needed
• Test both copper and fiber cables
• Read blueprints and apply specifications
• Operate power tools such as drills, saws, pullers, and tuggers
• Demonstrate safe work habits and comply with company safety requirements
• Teach, train, and guide electrical apprentices
• Assist electricians by performing various tasks
• Maintain proper care for materials, tools, and equipment

Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent from a technical school, or one or more years of related experience
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds frequently
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and varying heights
• Ability to work in confined spaces such as manholes or crawl spaces
• Willingness to travel out of town and stay overnight
• Ability to be on-call via pager or cell phone
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office platforms

Preferred Qualifications

• BICSI Certification
