About the role
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain structured cabling systems, fiber optics, and related components
- Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting for cabling system issues and network connectivity
- Conduct testing on cabling systems using industry-standard equipment to ensure performance and compliance
- Create and maintain accurate documentation of installations, configurations, and network diagrams
- Test electrical and telecommunications components for continuity and proper voltage readings
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while working on job sites
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in structured cabling or a related field
- Proficiency in installing, wiring, and terminating CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A, Coax, PBX, and fiber optics
- In-depth knowledge of cable and jack repair (RJ45, RG6, RG-6 Compression F)
- Understanding of network infrastructure, including TCP/IP, Routers, WAPs, and wireless devices
- Valid and clear driver’s license
- Ability to lift 20 pounds and work in various environments, including heights and confined spaces
- Willingness to travel out of market/state for up to 90% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant technical certification or degree
- BICSI Installer I/II certification
- Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT)
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
