Low Voltage Technician

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain structured cabling systems, fiber optics, and related components
• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting for cabling system issues and network connectivity
• Conduct testing on cabling systems using industry-standard equipment to ensure performance and compliance
• Create and maintain accurate documentation of installations, configurations, and network diagrams
• Test electrical and telecommunications components for continuity and proper voltage readings
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while working on job sites

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in structured cabling or a related field
• Proficiency in installing, wiring, and terminating CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A, Coax, PBX, and fiber optics
• In-depth knowledge of cable and jack repair (RJ45, RG6, RG-6 Compression F)
• Understanding of network infrastructure, including TCP/IP, Routers, WAPs, and wireless devices
• Valid and clear driver’s license
• Ability to lift 20 pounds and work in various environments, including heights and confined spaces
• Willingness to travel out of market/state for up to 90% of the time

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant technical certification or degree
• BICSI Installer I/II certification
• Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT)
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
