Loom Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor industrial looms to produce woven fabrics according to production schedules and quality standards
• Perform routine setup, calibration, and adjustments of looms to ensure optimal performance and product consistency
• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on loom machinery to minimize breakdowns
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical or operational issues, escalating complex problems to supervisors as needed
• Monitor fabric quality during production, detecting defects such as yarn breaks or tension irregularities
• Maintain accurate logs of machine performance, production output, and maintenance activities
• Follow all safety protocols and company procedures to ensure a safe work environment
• Assist in material loading and unloading, including handling warp beams and fabric rolls

Requirements

• 1–3 years of hands-on experience as a Loom Operator or in a similar manufacturing role
• Familiarity with various types of industrial looms (e.g., 6 shuttle Lohia/Starlinger loom)
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read technical schematics or machine manuals
• Attention to detail with a keen eye for quality control and defect detection
• Basic understanding of textile weaving processes and fabric characteristics
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
• Willingness to work shifts, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as required
