Long-Term Substitute: Middle School Science

Responsibilities

• Teach five sections of Seventh Grade Science to Middle School students
• Serve as a Seventh Grade advisor to a group of Middle School students
• Assess student understanding using a variety of formative and summative assessments
• Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents
• Attend Seventh Grade level meetings, faculty meetings, and Science Department meetings
• Monitor and support students during Study Hall, Advisory Flex, and Cornerstones
• Sponsor a Middle School Club and participate in extracurricular activities
• Participate in required school trainings and staff development sessions

Requirements

• Ability to pass all legally required and school-required background and screening checks
• Commitment to being a supportive, respectful, and energetic colleague
• Mastery of subject matter and pedagogical versatility

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Science or a related field
• Previous teaching experience in Science
• Previous teaching experience at the Middle School level
