Logistics Section Chief

Responsibilities

• Provide overall management and support to facilities, services, and material in support of the incident
• Participate in the development and implementation of the Incident Action Plan (IAP)
• Activate and supervise the Branches and Units within the Logistics Section
• Coordinate with the State Logistics Response Center to prioritize support requirements
• Collaborate with ESF-6 and NGOs to deploy field kitchens and cantinas
• Ensure procurement of food, water, ice, and fueling provisions
• Evaluate and monitor the current situation to determine if the plan meets incident objectives
• Communicate changes in logistical support to incident resources

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field
• Experience working within the Incident Command Framework at state or federal levels
• Experience in an Emergency Operations Center or disaster response with at least 2 activations in a supervisory capacity
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel
• Completion of required training: IS-100, IS-200, ICS-300, ICS-400, IS-700, IS-800, E/G/L-0191, E/L-0958, O-0305
• Experience with financial management applications

Preferred Qualifications

• Five or more years of professional experience in emergency management
• Master’s degree in Emergency Management or a related field
• Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) certification
• Proficiency with Web EOC
• ICS position-specific certification
