Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end domestic and international shipping operations across air, ocean, and ground transportation networks
- Oversee packaging, labeling, documentation, and shipment execution for dangerous goods (DG) in accordance with IATA, IMDG, and 49 CFR regulations
- Ensure all logistics activities comply with applicable export control regulations, including ITAR, EAR, customs requirements, and hazardous materials regulations
- Maintain and manage relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and logistics service providers
- Develop, monitor, and report on key logistics performance indicators (KPIs)
- Maintain required dangerous goods certifications and ensure proper employee training and recordkeeping
- Develop, standardize, and maintain logistics standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Build and maintain audit-ready documentation systems to support traceability and compliance with defense industry requirements
- Support implementation and optimization of ERP, SCM, and shipping management systems
- Partner with Supply Chain, Production, Legal, Engineering, and Program Management teams
- Utilize NetSuite to prioritize customer orders and shipment schedules
- Advise engineering and operations teams on packaging design and compliance considerations
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency and cost optimization
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management
- Significant experience supporting international and dangerous goods shipments
- Strong working knowledge of IATA, IMDG, 49 CFR, ITAR, EAR, and customs regulations
- Experience preparing and reviewing export documentation (commercial invoices, AES filings, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience developing logistics processes, SOPs, and training programs
- Extensive experience working with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience working with large datasets
- Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on operational execution
