Locum Physiotherapist

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of patients on Elderly Medicine wards with various multipathologies
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
• Monitor patient progress and perform frail elderly assessments
• Plan and prioritize daily tasks, including attending handovers
• Execute discharge planning in response to estimated discharge dates
• Identify and issue necessary equipment
• Work closely with Occupational Therapy and the multidisciplinary team (MDT)
• Delegate tasks to assistants and liaise with carers and families
• Complete statistics and access ExtraMed

Requirements

• Registered Physiotherapist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
• Experience working in the NHS
• Experience as a Band 6 Physiotherapist on Acute Medical or Elderly Wards
• Strong clinical knowledge of physiotherapy practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Experience in discharge planning and pathway knowledge
• Strong caseload management skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with ExtraMed is beneficial
