Locksmith/Maintenance Worker II

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and install all locks, panic hardware, door closers, and related hardware
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive key inventory system and computer database
• Organize and manage campus keying systems to ensure high levels of security
• Create and maintain floor plans identifying doors and hardware across campus buildings
• Perform various semi-skilled and skilled building repair and construction tasks
• Issue keys to Department Heads as approved by the Director of Facilities
• Stay current on industry trends and new types of locking mechanisms

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, with relevant vocational training
• 3 to 5 years of experience in locksmithing and building trades
• Proficiency in locksmithing skills and various locking mechanisms
• Strong skills in general building trades including carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work
• Proficiency with a variety of hand and power tools
• Valid driver's license with a clean record
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English
• Ability to participate in a rotating on-call program and respond to emergencies

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certification as a locksmith
