Lockout - Tagout (LOTO) Coordinator)

Responsibilities

• Manage the safe control and documentation of hazardous energy sources for the Edmonton Valley Line West project
• Perform electrical isolations on DC catenary systems and associated AC systems
• Conduct "test for dead" verifications and install grounding chains or short-circuiting devices
• Prepare and issue isolation documentation, including Guarantees of Isolation (GOI) and standard LOTO procedures
• Maintain accurate, traceable records of all isolations, permits, and system statuses
• Coordinate with construction and operations teams to align isolation schedules and minimize conflicts
• Monitor compliance with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and safety standards including OH&S and CSA Z462/460
• Execute safe restoration of energy systems upon completion of authorized work

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering or a construction-related field, or equivalent field experience
• 3+ years of field construction experience
• 3+ years of experience in LOTO, electrical isolation, or rail/transit infrastructure roles
• Recognized Journeyman trade certification valid in Alberta
• ESTS certification (or willingness to obtain promptly)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and navigate construction site terrain
