Locator

Responsibilities

• Safely locate underground utilities accurately using utility record systems and electronic locating equipment
• Field mark and document utility locates using work management software and prescribed procedures
• Complete assigned locate requests accurately and in a timely manner
• Utilize infrastructure records to plan and complete utility locates
• Safely operate a company-provided vehicle and plan travel to/from work sites
• Communicate effectively with Superintendents, Foremen, Coordinators, and clients via verbal and email channels

Requirements

• Valid Ontario (G) Driver’s License and a clean driver's record
• Strong computer skills, including MS Excel, MS Word, Email, and work management software
• Ability to work independently and stay productive under minimal supervision
• Ability to work long hours when required to meet deadlines
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills
• Professional interaction skills for customer service

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with public locates, private locates, or pre-engineering locates
• Experience with Vital Main Integrity (gas distribution third party observation)
• Prior construction experience
• DPT Certification
