Location Platform Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services in Rust and client-side codebases in Rust, Kotlin, and Swift
• Contribute to systems handling high traffic and large volumes of location data
• Enhance infrastructure supporting iPhone and Android devices across various OS versions
• Implement and optimize location data collection using Wi-Fi, network signals, GPS, and Bluetooth
• Monitor system metrics, triage bugs, and address performance issues
• Ensure compliance with privacy regulations and OS requirements
• Build internal tooling such as analytics dashboards and debugging utilities

Requirements

• Solid foundations in low-level programming or backend development

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency or strong experience with Rust
• Experience with Kotlin or Swift
• Ability to work across backend and client-side code
• Familiarity with battery optimization and privacy-aware engineering
• Experience with iOS and Android location APIs
• Familiarity with custom ROMs or reverse engineering
• Exposure to networking fundamentals and distributed systems
