Locate Technician

Responsibilities

• Receive and process work tickets via the Korweb system
• Read and interpret utility maps to identify underground utilities
• Utilize magnetic sensing equipment (RD7100) to detect underground lines
• Mark the path and type of utility lines using correct fluorescent paint colors
• Dig with a shovel as necessary to pinpoint utility locations
• Follow strict utility, state, and federal guidelines for line marking
• Provide work records and documentation using company-issued mobile devices
• Maintain assigned vehicles and follow all safety and operational procedures
• Participate in safety meetings and escalate issues to supervisors as needed

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1+ years of related experience
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to walk long distances consecutively (up to 3 miles)
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, rain, cold)
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, crouch, bend, and stoop
• Ability to obtain OQ Certifications within three months of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Related experience in a field operations environment
• Understanding of local codes and regulations
