Localization Specialist

Responsibilities

• Localize and review Preply content and brand messaging for the German-speaking audience
• Apply transcreation and creative copywriting to adapt marketing and brand content
• Maintain and document German content requirements, including terminology and tone of voice
• Perform quality assurance on the website, blog, and email communications
• Use data analysis to identify and deliver improvements to the German user experience
• Collaborate with marketing, engineering, product, and customer insights departments
• Manage relationships with freelance linguists to ensure high-quality output
• Support quality work-stream activities and resolve language bugs
• Support the creation of glossaries, style guides, and reference materials

Requirements

• Native-level German
• Professional fluency in English (C1 level or higher)
• Bachelor’s degree in translation, localization, linguistics, or equivalent experience
• At least 2 years of experience in the localization industry
• In-depth knowledge of localization best practices and quality management
• Experience working with CAT tools and project management platforms
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of internationalization best practices
• Knowledge of functional and linguistic testing methodologies
• Experience in localization quality management programs
• Experience managing external linguists or language service providers
• Experience operationalizing AI tools within localization workflows
