Localization and Mapping Research Scientist Intern

Responsibilities

• Stay abreast of state-of-the-art localization algorithms, focusing on LiDAR and Visual-Inertial Odometry
• Study and assist in developing localization and mapping algorithms using EKF and other filtering techniques
• Implement high-efficiency odometry systems for autonomous ground vehicles
• Conduct tests for different methods and provide detailed evaluation summaries
• Perform software design and development

Requirements

• Currently pursuing Undergraduate or Master's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or related fields
• Strong familiarity with localization algorithms (feature extraction, semantic segmentation, full SLAM)
• Experience with probabilistic robotics
• Research experience in robotics or sensor-related fields
• Proficiency in C++ and Python within a Linux environment
• Flexible problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ROS or similar middleware
• Knowledge of data structures and object-oriented programming
• Experience with real-world robotics deployment
• Experience with sensor calibration
• Experience with both vision and LiDAR sensors
• Experience with machine learning
• Experience with GPU programming
