Local News Reporter

Responsibilities

• Plan, gather, and assemble stories for day-of news or special project assignments
• Work with photographers to gather and edit compelling video and captivating sound
• Coordinate with news managers and producers to develop unique enterprise angles and exclusive content
• Develop a network of sources to provide tips and early access to information
• Contribute pictures, video, and text updates to mobile platforms throughout the day
• Maintain unwavering journalistic integrity and ethical standards while meeting tight deadlines

Requirements

• Professional or college reporting experience
• Proven experience with enterprise reporting and the ability to uncover details
• A strong demo reel that reflects your everyday work quality
• Ability to write clear, correct, and compelling copy
• Proficiency in operating mobile transmission devices and using modern technology
• Valid driver's license and a clear driving record
• Ability to work varied shifts, including overnights and weekends, in all weather conditions
• Ability to handle the stresses of time-sensitive newscast production
