About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the process for managing allegations against staff and volunteers who work with children
  • Provide expert advice and consultation to employers and partner agencies regarding safeguarding and safe recruitment
  • Monitor case progress to ensure timely and thorough investigations
  • Coordinate multi-agency responses with Police, Social Care, and senior managers
  • Contribute to the development of safeguarding practice and training across Lancashire
  • Chair and lead multi-agency strategy meetings

Requirements

  • Social Work England registration
  • Recognized Social Work qualification
  • Significant experience in children’s safeguarding
  • Deep understanding of managing allegations against professionals
  • Strong professional judgement in complex, high-pressure situations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills to mitigate risk to children
