About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the process for managing allegations against staff and volunteers who work with children
- Provide expert advice and consultation to employers and partner agencies regarding safeguarding and safe recruitment
- Monitor case progress to ensure timely and thorough investigations
- Coordinate multi-agency responses with Police, Social Care, and senior managers
- Contribute to the development of safeguarding practice and training across Lancashire
- Chair and lead multi-agency strategy meetings
Requirements
- Social Work England registration
- Recognized Social Work qualification
- Significant experience in children’s safeguarding
- Deep understanding of managing allegations against professionals
- Strong professional judgement in complex, high-pressure situations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills to mitigate risk to children
