Loan Officer

Responsibilities

• Prospect new customers and solicit new loans
• Cross-sell banking services to new and existing customers
• Manage a portfolio of account relationships, including reviews and problem-solving
• Interview loan applicants and evaluate financial data to establish creditworthiness
• Monitor customers' financial conditions and loan repayment activities
• Review and approve or deny loan requests up to pre-determined limits
• Prepare action memos for management and present credits to the loan committee
• Take necessary action to collect past-due accounts
• Represent the bank in civic and community organizations

Requirements

• Knowledge of agriculture, commercial, and consumer lending procedures
• Knowledge of credit structuring and general banking principles
• Knowledge of sales and marketing practices
• Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• College degree
• Three years of lending experience
