Live Event Operator

Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 broadcast operations support at the Scarsdale broadcast centre
• Perform quality control and daily setup for sports packages, big ticket events, and Business TV broadcasts
• Ensure all live events air on time across all available Bell TV platforms
• Troubleshoot technical problems with internal and external signals and patch around equipment failures
• Work closely with backhaul providers to book fibre feeds and manage automation playlists
• Collaborate with programming and other departments to ensure a seamless customer viewing experience
• Maintain technical documentation and update network contact information regularly
• Manage encoding of live events for playback and perform general audio/video checks

Requirements

• Experience working in a professional broadcast environment
• Thorough knowledge of digital broadcast and IP technology
• Strong understanding of baseband signal flow and end-to-end broadcast signal paths
• Technical knowledge of RF Satellite delivery and backhaul delivery methods (IP, Fibre, etc.)
• Post Secondary Graduate Diploma in Broadcasting or a similar related field
• Ability to work in a shift rotation environment, including holidays and weekends
• Proficiency in MS Office, Jira, and media file server/automation systems
• Ability to perform under high pressure in a fast-paced environment
