About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with propounding and responding to discovery, including interrogatories, requests for admissions, and subpoenas
- Prepare deposition binders and hearing binders
- Manage trial preparation including witness coordination, travel, exhibits, and trial notebooks
- Independently obtain, review, and organize medical records and billings
- Calculate damages including medical expenses, lost wages, and property damage
- Communicate with clients, experts, and attorneys regarding case status
Requirements
- Paralegal certification
- 3-5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal
- Experience with California litigation is highly encouraged
- Solid understanding of state and federal civil litigation rules and deadlines
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat
- Ability to work from the office as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in insurance defense, personal injury, or construction defect matters
