Litigation Paralegal

Responsibilities

• Manage case files continually from inception through mediation, arbitration, trial, or settlement
• Prepare subpoenas for depositions and document productions
• Draft initial discovery documents, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admissions
• Prepare draft responses to discovery, including document productions and privilege logs
• Research, vet, and engage with subject matter experts
• Monitor deadlines for responses and ensure timeliness
• Prepare legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, fact/medical chronologies, and agreements
• Conduct fact investigations, including social media research
• Execute trial preparation, including managing trial notebooks, exhibit lists, witness lists, and trial subpoenas
• Attend trials as necessary to support attorneys

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of general civil litigation experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat Pro
• Experience with LexisNexis and Pacer
• Experience with Relativity and iManage
• Proven experience with trial preparation and participation
• Strong written communication skills with an ability to edit for spelling and grammar
• Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Experience working for or with government entities
• Experience with exhibit manipulation software such as Sanction, Trial Director, or TrialPad
