Litigation Legal Secretary

Responsibilities

• Provide legal and administrative support to a diverse group of attorneys
• Manage document production, including drafting, proofreading, and editing legal documents
• Perform e-filing in state and federal courts
• Manage legal calendaring using Compulaw and other electronic court rule programs
• Coordinate multiple calendars, appointments, and travel arrangements
• Handle client interaction and communication with courts and attorneys
• Oversee the new client and matter opening process
• Maintain databases, email lists, and client matter lists

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (Bachelor's degree preferred)
• 5+ years of experience as a litigation secretary supporting multiple attorneys
• Strong understanding of litigation procedures and legal documents (pleadings, motions, discovery)
• Proficiency with e-filing in administrative, state, and federal courts
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat
• Experience with legal software such as iManage, Chrome River, or similar timekeeping programs

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of consumer finance
• Familiarity with Texas court rules and civil procedures
