Litigation E-Filing Specialist

Responsibilities

• Perform electronic court filings for state, federal district, and appellate courts.
• Screen and review incoming and outgoing court documents to ensure compliance with court rules and procedures.
• Track critical dates and enter calendar deadlines into centralized docketing software (e.g., CourtAlert).
• Provide support to litigation attorneys, including research, document retrieval, and service of process.
• Maintain and update related databases and process incoming court documents.
• Communicate with court personnel and attorneys regarding proper filing procedures.
• Search cases using software and internet resources as necessary.

Requirements

• Understanding of court docketing and calendaring procedures.
• Knowledge of California state and federal court rules and procedures.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and respond to shifting demands.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of prior experience in litigation docketing.
• Experience working in a large law firm.
• Experience with rules-based calendaring software such as CourtAlert, CompuLaw, or MA3000.
• Experience with federal, state, and local court electronic filing systems (e.g., NexGen, PACER).
