Litigation Counsel

Responsibilities

• Own and manage Discord's individual consumer claims docket end-to-end, including consumer arbitrations, state attorney general complaints, and DSA complaints
• Partner with litigation teammates on high-stakes matters, including regulatory inquiries and putative class actions
• Take ownership of discovery workstreams, including managing document review, custodian identification, and witness preparation
• Manage trademark, copyright, and other IP litigation matters, including DMCA-related disputes
• Contribute to efforts regarding regulatory and enforcement focus, such as minor safety and content moderation

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
• 7+ years of combined experience at a law firm and/or in-house legal department
• Meaningful exposure to technology or consumer-facing platforms
• Hands-on experience with the full eDiscovery lifecycle
• Hands-on litigation experience in consumer litigation and global IP matters
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Discord and the video game or online communication industry
• In-house experience at a consumer-facing technology platform
• Experience with regulatory, platform safety, privacy, or internet platform liability (including CDA 230)
• Experience managing consumer arbitration portfolios at scale
• Familiarity with patent litigation
