Responsibilities
- Perform administrative duties including scheduling hearings, deadlines, and managing logistics
- Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes
- Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices
- Implement and improve administrative processes for efficient workflow
- Collect, examine, and organize evidence for attorney review
- Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents such as pleadings and contracts
- Research regulations, laws, and legal articles
- Manage client billing and resolve billing issues
- Communicate with clients and witnesses to schedule meetings, interviews, and depositions
- Manage and maintain paper or electronic filing systems
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- At least 2 years of experience as an administrative assistant, legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal
- Knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, and court rules
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Typing speed of at least 35 wpm
- Ability to multi-task and manage workload in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in paralegal studies, paralegal certificate, or Bachelor's degree
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Experience in Personal Injury, Workers' Compensation, or Premises liability
