About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead literacy efforts to ensure students read at or above grade level by the end of third grade
- Coach and support staff through modeling, collaborative lesson planning, and co-teaching
- Analyze diagnostic, formative, and summative data to identify achievement gaps and trends
- Oversee the implementation of reading and ELA curricula, including Amplify CKLA and EL Achieve
- Support Academic Interventionists in small group instruction and data-driven best practices
- Plan and facilitate professional learning sessions aligned to literacy priorities
- Coordinate with school leadership and ELD specialists to ensure a coherent instructional model
- Monitor progress using tools such as mCLASS and DIBELS to create data-driven lesson sequences
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Valid Clear California teaching credential (or equivalent out-of-state credential)
- At least four years of teaching experience, including two years focused on foundational literacy
- Proven track record of leading students to exceed a year of literacy growth within a single year
- Experience coaching instructional support staff or teachers on reading interventions
- Deep commitment to serving students in traditionally underserved and under-resourced communities
Preferred Qualifications
- Subject matter expertise in Literacy, ELA, and Elementary Reading pedagogy
- Experience using CKLA 3.0, DIBELS, and mCLASS instructional resources
