Linux & Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and maintain large-scale Linux systems across production and non-production environments
• Configure and provision FCP and Infiniband multi-path storage devices across large-scale SAN environments
• Develop and maintain automation and configuration management solutions using tools such as Puppet, Ansible, or Verdad
• Write and maintain operational tooling in Python, Go, or other scripting languages to improve reliability
• Administer and troubleshoot complex SAN storage subsystems, including environments running Oracle and Oracle RAC
• Perform performance reviews and root-cause analysis on storage and infrastructure issues
• Debug complex systems issues from the application layer down to the kernel
• Partner with engineering teams to promote self-service tooling and service democratization

Requirements

• 0-18 months of industry experience in administering systems
• Hands-on Linux systems administration experience with RHEL, Oracle Linux, or CentOS
• Proficiency in Bash shell scripting for automation and system operations
• Solid understanding of Linux fundamentals: file systems, process management, and package management
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Go, Ruby, Swift, or Java
• Working knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP
• Familiarity with Oracle software stack and/or NoSQL databases
• Experience with version control systems such as Git

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing Linux systems at scale in a production enterprise environment
• Hands-on experience with SAN storage provisioning and flash storage appliances
• Experience with configuration management tools like Puppet or Ansible
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
• Knowledge of OS security hardening and regulatory compliance frameworks
