Linux System Engineer

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support distributed systems, networks, and infrastructure across on-premises data centers and AWS cloud environments
• Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of Ubuntu Linux and Windows Server environments
• Use Ansible-based automation for configuration management, provisioning, and patching
• Contribute to monitoring, alerting, and logging using Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK
• Perform troubleshooting and incident analysis at the network, OS, and application levels
• Apply security best practices including vulnerability patching and access controls
• Assist with administration of PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Redis, Memcached, and RabbitMQ
• Document processes to maintain an up-to-date operational knowledge base

Requirements

• Working knowledge of AWS (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM)
• Scripting skills in Bash and familiarity with Python
• Understanding of cloud and local network administration
• Awareness of security best practices and high-availability concepts
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, CloudWatch)
• Experience with Git-based version control
• Basic experience with PostgreSQL and exposure to other database or messaging systems

Preferred Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent
• Completed apprenticeship in IT administration or computer science
• AWS certification (Cloud Practitioner or Solutions Architect Associate)
• Good command of English
