Linux System Administrator

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced computing solutions in a heterogeneous environment focusing on security and high performance computing.
• Design, implement, and sustain containerized and Virtualized Machine (VM) architectures.
• Manage system configuration and apply security controls under the Risk Management Framework.
• Support a wide array of Linux and Windows systems in a tightly integrated environment.
• Maintain computer network concepts including hardware, cable management, and IP address management.

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance with eligibility for Top Secret and Special Access Programs.
• Current DoD 8140/8570 IAT II certification (e.g., Security+ CE or higher).
• Hands-on experience with containerization technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, and Podman in production environments.
• Proven experience with containerized and VM architectures.
• Working knowledge of both Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Strong understanding of computer network concepts.
• Bachelor’s degree and 4-8 years of experience, Associate degree and 6-8 years, or High School diploma and 8+ years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced experience with Kubernetes cluster management, container orchestration, and automation.
• Experience with Red Hat Satellite and cloud systems (Azure, AWS).
• Understanding of DevOps best practices and system development lifecycle automation.
• Experience with NIST 800-53, Risk Management Framework, or JSIG requirements.
• Proficiency in Shell Scripting and vulnerability scanning tools like ACAS or Nessus.
• Knowledge of audit log reduction tools such as Graylog or Splunk.
