Linux System Administrator

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and maintain enterprise Linux servers (RHEL 8) across on-prem and cloud environments
• Support cloud-based infrastructure including AWS and GCP provisioning and monitoring
• Perform advanced troubleshooting of system, network, and application issues using log analysis
• Execute OS maintenance including patching, performance tuning, and security hardening
• Develop automation using Bash, Python, or Ansible to streamline administration tasks
• Install and support Linux-hosted software applications and virtualization platforms
• Document system configurations and operational procedures
• Provide tiered help desk support and participate in an operational phone rotation

Requirements

• TS/SCI with Polygraph
• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field
• Minimum 5 years of professional Linux System Administrator experience
• Proficiency in Red Hat or Debian-based distributions
• Experience working with Elastic
• Strong knowledge of AWS cloud environments
• Ability to analyze system and application logs for root cause diagnosis
• Understanding of server hardware, storage, virtualization, and networking
• Experience supporting security and compliance requirements (ATO-driven operations)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with hybrid cloud and IC cloud platforms like C2S
• Proficiency with Ansible, Bash, or Python scripting
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, Docker, or Kubernetes
• Experience supporting PostgreSQL
• Knowledge of enterprise storage solutions (NFS, NAS, SAN)
• Relevant certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, or AWS
