Linux System Administrator

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows, Red Hat Linux, and Ubuntu servers.
• Perform regular system updates, patches, and security configurations to ensure high availability.
• Manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems, including software packages via YUM/RPM and SELinux policies.
• Automate administrative tasks using shell scripting and Ansible.
• Implement security best practices and conduct regular audits and vulnerability assessments in accordance with NIST 800-53.
• Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for end-users and internal teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations and procedures.

Requirements

• University Degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with 3+ years of experience.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Active DoD Secret security clearance required on day one.
• DOD 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification.
• Extensive experience applying DoD STIGs to RHEL and Ubuntu servers and workstations.
• Proven expertise as a System Administrator with Windows, Red Hat Linux, and Ubuntu.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, firewall management, and network security.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or KVM.
• Familiarity with configuration management tools.
