About the role
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows, Red Hat Linux, and Ubuntu servers.
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and security configurations to ensure high availability.
- Manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems, including software packages via YUM/RPM and SELinux policies.
- Automate administrative tasks using shell scripting and Ansible.
- Implement security best practices and conduct regular audits and vulnerability assessments in accordance with NIST 800-53.
- Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for end-users and internal teams.
- Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations and procedures.
Requirements
- University Degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with 3+ years of experience.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Active DoD Secret security clearance required on day one.
- DOD 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification.
- Extensive experience applying DoD STIGs to RHEL and Ubuntu servers and workstations.
- Proven expertise as a System Administrator with Windows, Red Hat Linux, and Ubuntu.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, firewall management, and network security.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or KVM.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools.
