Linux Engineer

Responsibilities

• Deploy, manage, and maintain Red Hat Satellite instances for systems provisioning, configuration management, patching and monitoring
• Automate repetitive tasks using scripting languages such as Bash or Python
• Monitor system performance, perform routine upgrades, and troubleshoot RHEL systems
• Implement and enforce best practices for security and compliance within Linux environments
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements
• Document system configurations, procedures, and changes
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Linux servers and related applications
• Assist in the planning and execution of system upgrades, migrations, and new deployments

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline
• 4-6 years of experience in Linux System Administration, specifically with Red Hat Enterprise Linux
• Proficiency in Red Hat Satellite for systems management, configuration, and automation
• Strong knowledge of RHEL (versions 7, 8)
• Experience with scripting (Bash, Python) for automation
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
• Knowledge of configuration management tools like Ansible or Puppet is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

• Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification
• Red Hat Certified Specialist in Satellite Management
• Experience with ITIL processes and methodologies
• Familiarity with database management and monitoring tools
